糖心传媒 offers certification programs for educators who are seeking to add endorsements to their teaching certificate. Many of these add-ons are offered in the 7-week, accelerated format, allowing you to work and learn simultaneously.
Educational Technology Facilitator
Classes are open to any graduate student in any program; no master's 糖心传媒 required.
Each course is 100% online and runs for 7 weeks, allowing flexibility and convenience for educators who work full time in the classroom. A valid type B or Level 2 Louisiana teaching certificate (3 years of teaching experience) is required for add-on certification.
Required classes:
Educational Technology Leader
Can be an add-on certification to an existing Master's 糖心传媒, or can be pursued as a focus of the MEDCI: Educational Technology 糖心传媒. Each course is 100% online and runs for 7 weeks, allowing flexibility and convenience for educators who work full time in the classroom. Requirements for certification include a valid Type A, or Level 3 Louisiana teaching certificate (master's 糖心传媒 and 5 years of experience), 9 semester hours of graduate credit in facilitator courses, and 12 semester hours of graduate credit total.
Required classes:
English as a Second Language (ESL)
Program is open all students; no Master's 糖心传媒 required. Each course is 100% online and runs for 7 weeks, allowing flexibility and convenience for educators who work full time in the classroom. A valid type A, B, C, or Level 1, 2, or 3 elementary or secondary teaching certificate is required for add-on certification.
Required courses:
Reading Specialist
Program is open to all graduate students and can be applied toward a M. Ed. Degree or +30 hours.
Each course is 100% online and runs for 7 weeks, allowing flexibility and convenience for educators who work full time in the classroom. Requirements for certification include a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university, valid Type A, A*, B, B*, Level 3, Level 3*, Level 2 or Level 2* Louisiana teaching certificate, and 3 years of experience in the licensed or certified field

Special Education Mild / Moderate
SPED Mild / Moderate Grades 4-8 or SPED Mild / Moderate Grades 6-12
Classes are open to all students with the prerequisite of ED 250, A valid type A, B, C, or Level 1, 2, or 3 middle or secondary teaching certificate is required for add-on certification, Praxis II exam requirement: Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications #5543 or Special Education: Foundational Knowledge (#5355),and Praxis: Teaching of Reading Elementary (5205) or Teaching or Reading Elementary Subtest (7002).
Required classes:
SPED Mild / Moderate Grades Elementary 1-5
Classes are open to all students with the prerequisite of ED 250, A valid type A, B, C, or Level 1, 2, or 3 elementary teaching certificate is required for add-on certification, Praxis II exam requirement: Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications (#5543) or Special Education: Foundational Knowledge (#5355), and Praxis: Teaching of Reading Elementary (5205) or Teaching or Reading Elementary Subtest (7002).
Required classes:
*ED 202, Introduction to Educational Technology requirement may be satisfied through initial certification coursework.
**The 6-9 hours in the teaching of reading and literacy requirement may be partially or completely satisfied through initial certification coursework.
